Medela Special Needs Bottle is a bottle with a teat specifically designed to allow babies to use compression when they are unable to create a vacuum to extract liquid. The line on the teat helps the caregiver find the correct positioning (offering three different flow rates). The slit valve makes the teat responsive to even the slightest sucking effort and completely closes when the baby wants to pause. The one-way valve prevents air from entering the teat. The caregiver can easily control the milk flow thanks to the slit valve mechanism.

This bottle supports oral feeding for babies. It provides a variable and controllable milk flow to adapt to the baby’s abilities and efforts. It is sensitive even to the smallest sucking attempt and helps when the baby cannot create a vacuum.

The Special Needs teat is available in a standard size. If the baby’s oral cavity requires a smaller teat, the Mini SpecialNeeds teat can simply be used as a replacement. The teat can be reused after being cleaned according to the instructions for use.
